About

Hi, my name is Mirjana Gavric, I’m a Bosnian born

bi-lingual (English) psychotherapist with over a decade of experience.

I have many years of experience working with trauma and am particularly skilled in supporting clients through their healing journeys.

Living in Copenhagen as a foreigner, I understand the unique challenges faced by expats. I strive to provide specialised support to help them navigate the complexities of living in a foreign country.

My Therapeutic Approach

At Growth Oasis, I offer a humanistic and integrative approach rooted in presence, compassion, and deep respect for your lived experience.

My work is grounded in a holistic and strengths-based perspective, drawing from modalities such as Gestalt, ACT, Schema Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness-based practices.

This space is designed to support you as you explore your inner world—your emotions, needs, and the complex layers that shape who you are; while also developing practical tools that meet your unique needs—helping you move forward with clarity, confidence, and care.

Whether you are navigating current challenges, processing past experiences, or moving through life transitions, our work together focuses on building insight, resilience, and self-trust.

Why I Work With Expats

Living abroad can expand you — and stretch you thin.

As an expat, you’re navigating more than logistics: you’re navigating identity, belonging, and emotional recalibration.

My own lived experience and work with international clients have shown me how deeply important it is to have a therapeutic space where you don’t have to explain your background, your English, or your emotional layers.

Speaking in your native (or most comfortable) language allows for deeper emotional expression and understanding.

As an English-speaking therapist familiar with expat challenges, I offer a safe,

non-judgmental space to explore whatever’s on your mind.

Many of my clients are navigating:

  • Emotional isolation in a new country

  • Cross-cultural relationship dynamics

  • Parenting away from extended family

  • Career shifts, burnout, or loss of direction

  • Who am I now?

  • Stress from adjusting to a new culture

When should you seek support?

Therapy isn’t just for when things fall apart - it’s also a space for growth, clarity, and deeper connection.

People come to therapy for many reasons. You might recognize yourself in some of the following experiences:

  • Persistent stress, anxiety, or low mood

  • Cultural transitions and identity shifts

  • Relationship challenges

  • Numbness or disconnection from yourself or others

  • Emotional burnout or feeling overwhelmed

  • Harsh inner critics or unresolved trauma

  • Grief due to loss or change

  • Lack of purpose or a general sense of “something’s not right

  • Feeling stuck or uncertain about how to move forward

  • Patterns that repeat, despite your efforts to change

  • Exploring identity, gender, or sexuality

  • Desire for personal growth and emotional resilience

Whatever brings you here, therapy can offer a supportive and structured space

to make sense of things and move forward.

How I can help

You don’t need to have it all figured out — you just need a safe space to begin.

Therapy is not about fixing you.
It’s about supporting the parts of you that are tired of holding it all together.

At Growth Oasis, you’ll find a space of warmth, clarity, and presence —
a space to pause, to breathe, and to return to yourself.

"I thought about going to a psychotherapist for a long time because I often experienced mood swings. It wasn’t until I had my first panic attack that I finally reached out to a therapist. She helped me change my mindset, face life situations with stoicism, worry less, and love myself more! The only thing I can say I 'regret' is not reaching out to her sooner, because mental health needs to be nurtured just like everything else."
